I had this turned on. For work reasons I had to do a hard reset on my device today. Now I can't access any files on my card, they are all encrypted, and the device can longer read them.

If you have this turned on, remember to make a backup copy of your SD card (transferring your files off the SD card using ActiveSync Explorer will decrypt the file to your HD). May come in handy for those of you who are going to re-image your device with the official WM6 ROM comes out.

If any one knows of a way to get my files back, I would greatly appreciate it.

So it works as designed ?! There is a blog post somewhere where they basically say the files are unrecoverable.

What happens if the device is cold booted?

If the device is reset and internal flash is cleared, the decryption keys are lost. If the keys were preserved, it would be easy to access the storage card of a stolen device by just cold booting the stolen device and clearing its storage, then re-inserting the stolen card.
