ATT has the refurb 750 for $99 w/2yr contract. Anybody have advice on buying a refurb vs a new one?

I bought a refurb and am VERY happy with it. It has the old Cingular logo on it instead of AT&T, but if that doesn't bother you it's no biggie.

I had purchased 2 refurb 650s from Cingular several years ago and both looked and performed like brand new. Go with the refurb and flash it with WM6 and you will be golden.

You may like to flash, but your phone shouldn't. LED Killer

Those phones even though refurb, they still work like new. I bet you if you hold a new one, and a refurb side by side, you wont be able to notice a diff in performance.

I got the $99 750 as well. I did not change my plan at all, only "upgraded" my phone.

I got a refurb 750 on the Premier site last week, with no contract extention (part of my FAN discount) and it shipped out promptly and looks, feels like brand new.

Now I'm trying to decide wether or not to take the leap and upgrade to WM6.

I thouht I read that if you remove the miniSD card that you loaded WM6 from that WM5 is there... doesn't make sense to me since it is suppose to load into the phone's actually memory???!!!

Once you flash to WM6, you aren't going back to WM5 without reflashing it to WM5.

I just got my Refurb 750, has Cing Logo - No prob there.
I will be sending it back for a replacement.
Spacebar doesn't have the 'Click Feel' like the other keys.
Because of this, I often get more spaces in my sentences.
    It is just too soft.

I notice in this Thread, nobody mentions possible issues peeps need to look out for. I guess that's because we have the "Official Bug" Thread.

But I think it would be good if we could post issues peeps need to look out for, so when they get their refurb, they can make sure they don't have the issue.

    So here's mine:
Make sure your spacebar click-feel is the same as the other keys.

    I am so tickled pink!

I didn't realize they send you a replacement that fast - 2 day delivery.
Also, I don't have to send the one I have back until I get my replacement up and running.

    Thanks AT&T!

Also, just to note; I also have an issue where it takes along time to find a signal after a reset.

I will post if I come across any other issues.

The length of time to find a signal after a reset or phone power on is variable. Sometimes it can be a few seconds, sometimes many minutes. I think a lot depends on what your local towers are doing and not the phone.
