Other than a WM6 update, I think the only other major problem I have is the bluetooth stack. Two big things, but I've been suprised how few little problems I have with the WX, unlike the 6700.

I mean the "switch folders" it might have said "Goto" then it would pull the folder drop down list (stylus free). Is that functionality now gone in the 1.22 update?

The GoTo option has never been a feature on the 700w or the wx.

You can check each of the file dates. You can also open each file using Resco and view Properties to see if the ROM checkbox is checked or not. If it's not checked delete it. The ROM version will then appear with the new date.

Folks, how do I enable A2DP? I have now installed the latest Palm patch, but am still not able to listen to music played from WMP through my Plantronics 640 bluetooth earphone. Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks so much! By the way, this is on a 700W.

Looks like not. I still get the dreaded "no modem at this location" (or similar) message unless I stop/restart the radio before connecting. After that it connects first time.

I did successfully update my wx to 1.22, but not without a couple of scares. I had to restart it twice. But it finally worked.

Updated to 1.22 with the following observations

-Took 48 minutes total, but no scares other than how long it took.

-All my newsbreak channels went missing. The directory and files were all still there, but newsbreak would not read them, and showed up blank. I had exported my list so it was easy to wipe out all the files and then re-add the channels and update, then right back where I was

    -PDAnet bluetooth works as before

    -BroadbandAccess speed seems unchanged.

I have noticed very little in terms of performance gains on my updated 700w (read: no performance gains). I have not tried BT yet so I'm interested to see.

One thing I have noticed...the WM screen hangs MUCH longer now whenever I soft reset. Could have done without that for sure.

I noticed that too (I always "reset" by removing/replacing the battery). But I wouldn't have said much longer, just a little longer.

    +1

Updated but froze on Treo splash screen with 3.10. Hard reset does not work. VZW going to send me 'new' one since it is still under warranty.

Post update FAQ states the below... what is Picsel? I can't find it on mine.

    -Frank

    -----------------
Picsel Viewer is listed twice in Programs.

The Treo™ 700w/wx Updater 1.22 for Verizon Wireless installs Picsel Viewer into the ROM. If you have two Picsel Viewer icons in the Programs folder on your device, the one listed in the Remove Programs setting should be deleted.
    --------------

In my Start | Programs I have one Streaming Media and one Streaming Video. Are they the same? Note: I have installed the HTC m.youtube streaming cabs. Maybe one of them is that? I have nothing like this in Remove Programs.

Mine is much longer. I would say it used to be about 5-10 seconds tops...now it is at least 30 seconds. The rest of the boot process is the same.

Yes, it will be hacked. Can't promise when, but it will be this month.

Near as I can tell, this is a major change for the w, but the wx already had it. Well, really two-button, [Right Soft] and choose Speakerphone. Although, if someone can correct me I'd be happy.

Edit: I just noticed that if the "disable touchscreen while in a call" is not selected, there is a "one-button" speaker toggle on the display, using a stylus I guess. Maybe that's what they mean. I can't remember how it was before the update to 1.22. I always have the touchsreen disabled during calls. I don't use keyguard though, that is disabled all the time.

Okay, maybe this is a difference between the w and the wx. I have the wx. Just for grins, I just timed my wx WM screen. It is 7 seconds. I timed it, after removing/reinstalling the battery, from the point where the WM screen first appears to when the time selection screen appears. Yours?
