    2. Its a very small company and the IT person is gone. So they are screwed until they get a new one.

    3. They have a web site www.her-company.com but that is the domain as well.

So I wait for a new IT person?
You might have to wait for another IT guy. sometimes with small companies, they don't turn on the OWA feature. You will have to find out.

When I enter my regular logon password I get an error message that says "Correct your exchange server password". Does that mean they may be using a separate confidential password?

Exactly. My IT guy had to turn on the OWA feature before we could sync with Exchange.

Oh, and my server was is something weird like headquarters.exchange.(companyname).com

I have a Treo 700wx. The problem is that I have a laptop and thus do not have a computer I can leave on all the time. This messes up Verizon's wireless sync, which, I am told, uses a personal computer essentially as a server. Is there any way around this problem? I am not a particularly tech savvy person. Thanks.

we are having the same issue reported here (exchange server not found). we have a certificate but it is not registered. Dos this make a difference? Also, our webmail url is configured like internal.domain-name.com/exchange. is ths OK? Right now we are assuming we need to register the certificate and all else will be OK.

    Thanks

You url should be find if you can access it from outside your network. You will want to leave the /exchange off when you configure Active Sync. Now what exchage server are you using? You need Exhange 2003 with SP2 installed. Then you need to figure out if you are using SSL or not. The way you find this out is if your OWA is using http or https. If you use http then you don't need a cert. If you are using https then you will need a cert and it will need to be registered with your server.
