Vodafone UK customers may already be aware that Vodafone Live will stop being free from June. Pay as you go data is 1 for 14.5Mb and then 2 per Mb on top of that per day.

Vodafone are also going to offer a 'web and walk' bundle. My sources tell me that this is likely to be 20Mb per day for 7.50 per month. I really hope they increase this as 20Mb per day is nothing and far behind T-Mobile.

We will be able to sign up from June

Can anyone recommend data counter software that works well for this kind of thing?

EDIT: Vodafone have just made this page available - no new info on it just yet though

The above link has vanished and all there is are pages telling you how Vodafone Live is free (which it won't be from Friday) Very poor show.

However using the search function I've found a secret page not yet published:

    http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatc...pageID=MI_0005

7.50 per month for a whopping 120Mb. PER MONTH!!! That's very poor compared to T-Mobile. Vodafone have to do better than that.

120 Mb per month is a joke, i have just been talking to vodafone as i am currently with tmobile webnwalk professional and my contract is up, they told me they will have a package available on the 1st June that will match webnwalk, obviously this is total rubbish, and they don't know what they are talking about, vodafones signal is better where i live but for those rates i will stay with Tmobile

Wow, you loyal subjects to the monarch are getting your cheeks well spread and lubed when it comes to data.
My sis resides in Wycombe (South Bucks) and marvels at my $15/month 3G unlimited data here in the States.

Vodafone Live itself now has a page about this. Although it fails to mention how much you get for 7.50 it does say this will be available from 6th June.
Meanwhile with less than 2 hours to go Vodafone's website still says that browsing Vodafone Live is free.

I also got mentioned on The Regsiter for uncovering Vodafone's plans: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/05..._data_pricing/

Vodafone's data pricing is what put me off from buying the treo from them. I got mine from Palm (via eBay) and signed up for 3 UK's X-Series. 5/month for 1Gb usage suits me fine. Now if they could switch on HSDPA in my area (apparently it will be completed in the next couple of months), then I will be a happier camper

Well on the bright side I will have very little difficulty proving that this will make my bills rise by at least 10%. This means that I can break the contract so I would have got the phone cheap and will be able to migrate if I want. However I'd rather Vodafone came to their senses and improved their offer instead.
Currently Vodafone's account section is down. It's supposed to be coming back up Monday.
