I'm at my wit's end with the VZW Treo 700WX and BT headsets; I've tried Moto HS-850 as well as Jabra BT500V, both with similar sucky results. I NEED A RELIABLE BT HEADSET that works with VZW WX.

VZW Treo 700WX & Jawbone BT Headset

    How did it Pair?
    How is the volume?
    Any dropped BT connections?
    Static?
Overall, would you recommend the Jawbone for use with the VZW Treo 700WX?

Sup E, good to hear from you again!

I ordered a black Jawbone. I'll report back here when I get a chance to use it next week.

No, I am under the impression that the registry changes are not for the VZW WX but rather for the Sprint WX.

No this is for both. You need to add btl1 to the suspend and the useridle folders. Make the dword value 1.

I cannot for the life of me follow that thread. It's way too confusing. I have no idea what needs to be changed on the VZW 700WX. I'll pass until a PROVEN procedure is posted. Thanks anyway D.

    Here is what you do:

    Go to Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State

You will see the Suspend folder and the Useridle folder. Add new dword
btl1 and set the value to 1 in both folders. That is what is working for me so far.

You have VZW WX and which BT Headset? Have you noticed an improvement since editing the Reg?

Add the new dword where exactly? In the Useridle Folder or the Suspend folder or in the State folder?

Yes I have the VZW treo and the Plantronics 665. Yes it seems to be helping. Put the new dword in the Suspend folder and the Useridle folder. These folders are what instruct the hardware in the device to recieve power when in Suspend mode and Useridle mode.

It changes the power setting for the bluetooth hardware. These tell the treo which devices in the treo get power at certain times.

I tried the edit and it made the volume MUCH louder which is great but still had a ton of static and dropouts. I deleted the 2 new Dwords. Back on topic as I anxiously await the arrival of the ugly Jawbone.

Robdam - I sent you a PM, but I'll post a reply for the gang:

    • Pairing - simple & it worked right away.
    • Volume - Fine on the Treo, but I pity anyone with less control than we have.
    • Dropped BT connections - Never during a call, and on the rare occasions that it drops between calls, it reconnects by itself immediately. I have not missed a call yet on the headset. (It actually showed as disconnected today and linked up when I pressed SEDN. Pretty cool.)
    • Static - Better than most.

If you can find a comfortable fit (give it a week), then hang on to it. I'm keeping mine.

It's only 70" wide. I should have shot it for my 700wx instead of the wall!

Good info MB, thank you. Just to confirm that you have the VZW WX, correct? Would you say that the Jawbone performs better than any other BT Headsets paired with the VZW WX?

Aye, I have the VZW WX, and the Jawbone absolutely outperforms my Plantronics v510 and Moto HS-850. I would pick the v510 for comfot, and the HS-850 for the easy on/off (can you say "FLIP?") but I'll leave them in a drawer collecting dust while I use the Jawbone.
