I just "upgraded" my 650 for a 700wx mainly for work related reasons. While I love having my e-mail/calendar on my phone again and I'm still adjusting to the new interface (POS really is a lot more efficient) I'm finding that there are some apps I used on the 650 that just don't seem to be available in the WM world. Directory Assistant is one of them. I'm so used to just pulling DA when I'm driving around and looking up the phone number/address of a business that I'm lost without it. After church this afternoon I gathered up my family to go to an office supply store. I went to pull out my trusty phone and look up an address using DA and remembered that I don't have it on my 700wx. The YP.com website has a mobile version but since PIE isn't as one handed friendly as Blazer was it's a little difficult to navigate around in.

Are there any WM programs similiar to Directory Assistant?

    TIA.

Too bad that DA port is no longer available for download...
Any alternatives to use other than m.yp.com?

    Stroths,

As Millerhifi mentioned I don't see DA listed on that site (actually had to use my phone to get to the site ). I could use Google Local as it's pretty accurate but I've found that if I don't format the query just right I get a lot of entries, most of which have nothing to do with what I'm looking for. Just do a search for "cici 73159" and you'll see what I mean.

    Thanks for the advice though.

I went to the website and see the author discontinued the product on 3/1/07 and took the files off the server. Thats too bad.

You can also use Windows Live Search - http://treo.discussion.treocentral.c...highlight=live which is free and is a WM5 native app with no need for .net 2

The 2 options below do require the compact .net framework (yuck)

    I ran across Pocketbogle a while back - http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forum...er&f=13&t=8630

There is also Pocket411 - http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=125720 but I believe its been discontinued. Not sure if it still works or not.

    Awesome, thanks!
It doesn't seem to work as well as the version for POS but I'll take it.

I forgot to mention that you can run the Palm version of DA if you install a commercial program called Styletap. It lets you run some Palm apps on WM5.

Its not free, but its another option.

Do you use it? If so does it work well?

It certainly is not free....$50! Wow. And the list of compatible apps is not that compelling either. I love DA but I'd like to be able to run a few more apps if I drop $50 on Styletap.

So I have the WM DA version loaded and it works fine for business searches but I cannot get the residential to work at all.
