Under the general options for Sprite, there's an "Encrypt Backup" option. If I check off that option and click "OK", I get an alert that pops up but it's blank (see attached). Do you guys get the same thing? If not, what are you seeing?

My Sprite has really been acting up as well, all the backups were 'corrupt' I am thinking the free version we have supplied to us is not as 'polished' as the ones they sell!! I am going to try to totally erase (not hard, I had to hard-reset last night) and reinstall!! I will see, I will check out your little item as well, and let you know!

Have you tried re-install the Sprite Backup? It works fine on my device.

Well the image looks strange as it should have five options not 4. and the last one should be 'exclude persistance storage'.

I highly recommend you to remove and reinstall Sprite Software. it is quite stable on my Treo 700w.

I use Sprite, and I do have 5 options under General Backup Options:
    X Compress Backup
    X Encrypt Backup
    X Name Backup Files Automatically
Leave a copy of Sprite backup on Storage Card
X Create self restoring Backup Files

All are selected except for Leave of Sprite Backup on Storage card. I have tried to deselect all of them, exit the program, and then start the program, and select Encrypt Backup only, I do not get that error message.

As suggested, try uninstalling it, then re-install it.

    What version are you using?

Im using version 5.1.0, Build 1438 on my 700wx - it's the version that came on the disc with the Treo. I already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and I'm still only seeing the 4 options under general options. I'm thinking about uninstalling this version altogether and going back to the version I had on my 700w.

My works flawlessly - on my Sprint 700WX. Same version/build.

I have restored from backups, too, and that's all worked just fine.

Do you have the same screen as I posted in the first post in this thread?

Nope. I use encrypted backups flawlessly.

I guess this is not very helpful, but I have no errors of any sort. I just switched "encrytped backups" off and on, and no errors.

Your screen image looks wrong for this version. It should be:

Hmmm - wonder if it's a Sprint vs. VZW thing. Maybe the version that VZW shipped with the phone is fuc*ed up.

Maybe so. (Please forgive my edit of your quote. I cleaned it up a bit.)
