Here's an idea... how 'bout a hack that let's me choose a directory that has a music file (mp3, wma, midi), and plays it over the line while the person is on hold. Any ideas?

I don't think that's possible. The music would have to come from Sprint since it's not a 'local' hold. Plus I don't think these devices have the ability of playing back sounds to callers.

    You never know though...

The hold's not done by the device?

Well I don't recall these devices having a hold function, you can mute the mic, but that's as far as I know.

If you are talking about when another call comes in, it's part device and part network. Trust me, the music would have to come from Sprint.

Don't get me wrong, I could be mistaken, but my gut tell me that's how it is.

Unless someone else has some input...

    Hmm...

    1. My bad, I didn't put exactly what I was talking about. Treo 700w on Verizon
    2. I'm talking about the hold that shows on the left soft key when in a call. Not muting the mic.

Thanks for the input. I've already learned more than a couple days ago.
