Thought this deserves its own thread. I installed hannip's A2DP setup that he posted, and found that I not only gained A2DP, but I was able to pair with my Mac and use Bluetooth DUN. Before the update, when I paired with my mac, nothing would show up for services that the 700 provided. Now when I pair, it shows use phones connection to get to the internet, and Bluetooth DUN is listed as a supported profile. I was able to successfully connect to the internet through the phone and actually get out.

More kudos to hannip for hacking the VZW bluetooth stack to work on the Sprint 700wx.

I'm testing the DUNS over BT now, I'm boosting 384k down by 128k up (without shutting down my peer to peer). Using the VZW 700w (not wx)and a generic USB BT Adaptor. I'm pleased with the results.

It connected for me just using the #777 as the number, no password or anything. Set it to no require the password in the setup on your computer when you setup the DUN connection. I am using a MacBook Pro with XP via bootcamp however...... and its go the apple BT drivers loaded. Not sure if that would make a difference or not, but something worth mentioning.

Since I am on a Sprint phone, I am using the Sprint PCS Vision profile. It is included with all the other profiles. Then I have #777 and no login/password. Other that that, I have not tweaked any other settings.

i just paired my treo 700wx sprint with my macbook pro and i cant believe the speed i cam getting out of this thing who needs wifi when you have this... Does anyone know does this cost extra? I cant see how they can monitor your traffic if you get unlimited internet on your phone anyways. After i paired the profile i chose to make it work was "au cdma bluetooth adapter" it was the only one on the list that looked like a mobile hence the cdma. For some reason the connection keeps dropping though anyone have any ideas?

Is your treo going into suspend? If so that would drop the connection. You'll need to change the power settings to stay on.

    Thu Feb 22 19:57:23 2007 : Initializing the phone
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:23 2007 : CCLWrite : AT&F0E0V1S0=0\13

    Thu Feb 22 19:57:30 2007 : using link 0
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:30 2007 : Using interface ppp0
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:30 2007 : Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:31 2007 : sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0xe734794e> <pcomp> <accomp>]
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:31 2007 : Hangup (SIGHUP)
    Thu Feb 22 19:57:31 2007 : Modem hangup

so, it connects, and then looks like the modem hangs up immediatly?

everything works fine no issue the last question is ,.... Is sprint going to charge extra for DUN use (its the same as using the internet on your phone technically)? Or is this going to be just like the picturemail hack where technically you cant get charged because its not supposed to be unlocked on the phone?
  19. #19
Well, i paired my Sprint 700Wx to my iMac, and got the option to use the phone as a modem.
When i try it out, it just says "connecting" for a while and says there's an error with the modem.
I tried both the default Sprint PCS Vision modem script and the Palm Ix CDMA/Evdo modem script as well, no dice.
    Any pointers?

    UPDATE:
*Well, i installed the vzw700wx_a2dp cab file again, copied the .dll files to \Windows, did a soft reset and set it up for DUN and so far so good. Haven't tried with a BT stereo headset yet.
