    Hi

I experienced that the 750 thinks the connection is on longer than it is.

I have a nokia 770 which i connected to my 750v through bluetooth to do DUN. It works some of the time, but not always. And if i disconnect i can not reconnect. Then i tried with the browser on the 750v, which said that there was another connection or phone call.

This let me to try turning the phone off, and then on again. After that the build in browser worked. So i turned off/on again, and now nokia 770 worked.

This leads me to think that windows mobile does not forget a connection as fast as PalmOS, because i never had this problem on my 650, maybe because i actively have to put it into DUN mode.

So, if you have DUN problems, try phone off/phone on. Not power off/on.

Ath the moment the treo is one of the crappiest wireless modem I've tried.

It work slightly better with the cingular FW than the Vofafone's ones but is still behind of any cheap hsdpa/umts phone I've tried.

I'm hoping in some better performance with a new firmware but at the moment is pretty unusable as DUN modem.

Bummer! Works GREAT for me. In fact I had to use it yesterday for 3 hours while at a clients site. Just perfect and no drops! Maybe because im using a MAC? Never tried it on a windowz box... yet.

Maybe because you are using BT, You cant get HSDPA speed through BT

Sure its limited by the BT radio speed. You did say its the "crappiest wireless modem". Was this your reason? No HSDPA via. wireless BT modem connections?

You're not making any sense. If you are unhappy with the device I would return it and stick with what works for you. There are many phones you couldnt pay me to use, the Treo I would purchase again!

I confirm this, with the my samsung z560 for days w/o any disconnection or hangs as any other hsdpa phone I tested, with the treo (via usb) hangs after few minutes in umts mode and after few seconds in hsdpa. It works slightly better via BT but still unusable for this purpose.

Maybe the problems are alleviated with the slower US networks.

    You're not making any sense.
I report the my experience, if you are not interested just skip the my post.

I'm unhappy with the modem function of the treo, the other functions are well suited for the my needs.

The only problem is that I cant sell the Samsung as I supposed, simply because the samsung works an the treo doesn't.

The wireless modem on the Treo 750 is terrible. I've used a ton of devices and the Treo's is just plain flakey and slow. I get slower connections via DUN than any other device and even though the Treo still shows a data connection and the bluetooth still shows connection between laptop and Treo I see the same problem as others. The data just stops flowing. Sometimes a disconnect and reconnect works, sometimes you need a soft reset. I have also seen where you disconnect from the laptop, but the bluetooth on the Treo freezes so both the Treo and laptop still have the bluetooth connection open and a reset is the only way to fix it.

I've tried both the Vodaphone 750v and the Cingular 750. The Cingular one would usually go longer but it still show the same problems. Sorry if it offends anyone but the DUN functionality on the Treo 750 is buggy and poor. Don't think there is anything else to explain.

Actually, I had the same experience as "The solutor". Last year I purchased a Samsung Z560 which unfortunately lacks some features, nor i600 has filled the gap. So I decided to buy a Treo750, nice for almost features but DUN, pretty unusable; maybe HSDPA is suited for downloading mail, for sure NOT 4 DUN. In a single connection to download a 300MB file, I've obtained some periods of 20.4KB/s DL (lasting about 30 secs) followed by 0-speed periods; this happened 4/5 times until the connection dropped. I put my old Z560 in place of Treo and it's about 1 hour I'm DLing at about 60KB/s. Facts, not words. Palm, pls give us a fix or your fine product lacks a must!
