Not sure what tomtom is good for without GPS, unless you use it for the POI data/phone numbers like stated in previous thread.

I have noticed TomTom 6 does want to reset device after you config the gps settings. Have you tried to just not configure gps settings or save settings for a GPS device that is not connected.

Find it handy to create routes, then view them as images.
Have tried to configure gps, but it still tries to reset.
Whats the best gps receiver to get? a bluetooth one?

Not sure what's the best GPS receiver... I use a Royaltek Bluetooth GPS. Works flawlessly! It also has built in logging which is nice, I rarely use the logging features, but you can just turn it on and travel, it logs everything for when you return. You can then download the log and import it into a maping software. The GPS data/route is displayed. I guess good if you want to hide it in the truck and see where you kids have gone?

I used logging once to log a Chicago bike race I was in.

I use the Globalsat BT GPS, similar to the one that Cingular sells.
