I would like my 700wx to behave like my 650. When I hit the button with the green phone thingee on it I would like to see the dial pad. Hit it again and I see the call log.

Currently on the 700wx when I hit the BWTGPT (button with the green phone thingee) I get a menu with recent calls, then have to scroll up to select dial pad or call log.

Any plugins/mods that I can use to change the 700wx's behavior?

Take a look at this post in another thread.

I am going to try out these programs to see if I can make the 700wx into The Phone It Could Have Been (if only they had asked for my humble and brilliant input).

You can do this with a combination of Mortscript and AE Button plus I believe. Look at the work hannip did with Mortscript in a thread called Fun with Mortscript.
    Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 700wx -> Mogul -> Touch Pro
You may like to flash, but your phone shouldn't. LED Killer

Couldnt you set the AE button to make a double green click = dial pad?

If you have AE Button Plus, you can map the Send button to Phonedialer.exe under the \Windows directory. You can probably map the call log to the Send button (Double Press) but I'm not sure what the exe is for that.

You use the dial pad that much to actually dial phone numbers, rather than just entering the number or the contact name on the today screen? Just curious

For most of my calls yes the people are already in the system. But there are a few that aren't so I have to dial manually.

I like having the dial pad visible for keying in voicemail prompts etc. The 650 screen was so good in having mute and speakerphone right there on the dial pad. Plus there was the ability to type in a name from the 650's dial pad and it would search contacts. At least out of the box my 700wx won't do that from the dial pad. That's another functionality I need to add back.

Despite these issues I am really liking the 700wx.

I must be miss-interperating your post because this works right out of the box. Right from the today screen- you can dial numerical numbers or alphanumeric contacts. This works better than the 650 because the 650 made you choose between one or the other.

I'm confused too. If you just start dialing on the today screen it'll search your contacts, in fact the first characters you dial come in as text until you dial 2 or 3 and then they convert to numbers to dial out if you are just going to dial out a number. I haven't touched the dial pad ever since this renders it useless...

The only time I use the dial pad is if I have to dial a number that has been marketed with alpha characters. (i.e. 1800-GEICO)

yes you can just put a name in at the today screen. that is really good. but I want more. if you are at the dial pad for the 700wx it will only accept numbers unlike the 650 which would take letters too (wouldn't it? maybe my memory is failing).

I actually like the way Window Mobile handles the green send button better than what my 700p did. In fact, I never hardly use the on-screen dialpad anymore. I've been using Voice Command for everything and it works flawless (It's assigned to my side button).

Well. Voice Command. That's a thought that I never thunk when I had my 650.

I think that your memory is failing you.

The point we are trying to make is that with all of the robust dilaing options on the today screen there is almost no reason to go to the dial-pad. As I see it at least.
