That top line that says "cingular.......with the bluetooth icon"
    is a big space waster.

can someone tell me how to get rid of it via a registry edit?

    Thanks!

Also, can I make the top taskbar and the bottom soft keys smaller? What a huge waste of space. Together it's got to be 20% of the screen taken up for useless stuff. Please help.

it's the top line of the screen right under the start icon
it's put there when you put in the cingular sim card.
    It's so annoying.

The line is the one that display the carrier network you are on. If you have a Cingular sim in there in the U.S. you will Cingular.

I had something that worked on my 8525, but can't remember what.
Cyfer33 just pm'd me about the same thing.
I guess I had better see if i can find it again.

    Yea, I remember now.
    It was VjToggleToday.
Worked great on my 8525, but I had issues with the 750.
    Haven't used it since.

I don't know why you would want to remove it - how will you know if you have a signal? I guess if you are in the city all the time, you know, but I frequently go out to the country and coverage is spotty there.
