Hello again all ! Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question. Has anyone tried either one of these programs?

    http://www.edgeq.com/TrafficEdge.aspx

    http://www.vizzion.com/

I know they have free downloads, I will do them but I was just wondering if anyone has them now. I searched and Traffic Edge has an old 2005 entry but nothing since.

    Inputs?

I just tried the trial of vizzon.com and it's pretty good. It has a lot cameras in my region (Maryland) and they update fairly quickly. The Virgina-side is severly lacking in a lot of areas. If they update this will info for I-66, I-395, and I-495, I would probably consider purchasing it. If you live in MD, Northern VA, or DC, then you need traffic info for all three regions. Like I said they have good info for MD, and DC, but not for VA.

I use trafficedge and I am quite pleased with it in the Seattle area. Although I generally just use the traffic map, the cameras are a nice extra.

traffic edge is very good. If you live or travel in the NYC area, NYC makes PDA versions of their traffic cams:

I just use my WeatherPanel and added the local cams that I want to see like a radar image. Works great.

http://www.511southflorida.com/ is the Florida site if anyone is interested. So far I am not impressed with either of them. The map feature is too small to really be relevant so in the mean time. I signed up my trips and get emails sent to me daily during certain times of the day and that tells me what is where. Also I installed Google maps (Thanks PPC Geeks!) that thing is golden, shame you cant click on the areas of congestion and find stuff out in detail but /shrug, I am happy it works.
Maps for PDA has the traffic show option but I dont get any traffic updates on it at all. Matter of fact with the Google and Yahoo Wap maps I am getting ready to uninstall Map 4 PDA since it is kind of useless unless I am naive to some other part of it that would make it valuable.

I'd love to hear about it if you find some traffic cams or anything else for our area, I personally have found google maps traffic info to be fairly decent since it's come out...

    That's outstanding!
The Weatherpanel discussion had grown to over 600 posts so I stopped reading it. I had no idea you could substitute traffic images for the radar images.
Care to PM me the details?

Both the Windows Live and Google Maps clients have traffic information (maps with traffic info) for some areas. It works well for Minneapolis.

    Also, Traffic.com now has a PDA-friendly site at mobi.traffic.com.

just right click on the image of the traffic cam and copy the url down and list it in weather panel the same way you list the radar urls. I do the same thing in SBSH Pocket Weather for ski slope web cams.
