    Someone tell me this is a joke!

    there must be some application on WM that does this?
    1. HTC Touch Dual Neon 300, Stock Rom

    Shortcut5 allows you to type a "." and a couple letters and have it quickly enter a word or two...

    Like .la = Los Angeles; .gm = good morning; etc.

    It is awesome for quickly typing on the small keyboard.

    You can use QuickCorrect codes the same way (QuickCorrect is actually a feature in some Wordprocessor programs).

    I wish there was one too but some users on this board have reported that it works quite well with the 700wx and the price is pretty cheap, so if you need it I'd say take the jump.

    the developer (kai) has been around a long-time and makes tons and tons of apps, so he's pretty reliable.

    Like patrickj, I like TapText, too--for that type of autotext.

    Here's another similar type of app that I used in the past, too: http://www.biomobility.com/copytextpro.htm

    Whoops: just looked again and may not be ready for WM5.
