Thank you for the post. I'm watching ABC News as we speak...
    My 2 cents...

    It seems as if CNN and ABC both stream 320x240. Therefore, Full Screen Mode "Chops off" the edges. I only see half of the weather woman... Anyway to fix this?

    Thanks.

    Did you update the original file, Dinomon? Or how can I add those two "new" channels to it? Thanks.

    What's the deal with CNN? I have been unable to get it to work.

    Ok folks, attached is a pack of stream files (taken from here)

    The problem here is that these files are .strm files, however, I've found that most (or at least the ones I've tested) of these files can be played with Windows Media Player (on the computer and on WM devices), as long as you put the url of the stream in an asx format. So basically, the process is:

    1. Open the .strm file with wordpad (or any text editor)
    2. It should contain a URL, copy this url.
    3. The following code will be used to create out ASX file so WMP/TCMP will play our streams. Copy and paste it into a word editor, and save it as an asx file.

    Code:
    <ASX VERSION="3.0">

ENTER TITLE OF PLAYLIST HERE

         <ref href="PASTE URL HERE" />

ENTER TITLE OF STREAM HERE

    </ASX>
    4. If you look at the code, it should be self explanatory, but basically, just paste the URL of the stream (From the .strm file). This is the most important part. After that, simply enter the title of the playlist, and enter the name of the stream. If you'd like, you can add more than one entry to a playlist, similarly to the original one posted in this thread. To do that, simply copy and paste everything from the
to the
tags and fill them in with the appropriate info. For example:

    Code:
    ASX VERSION="3.0">

ENTER TITLE OF PLAYLIST HERE

         <ref href="PASTE URL HERE" />

ENTER TITLE OF STREAM HERE

         <ref href="PASTE URL HERE" />

ENTER TITLE OF STREAM HERE

         <ref href="PASTE URL HERE" />

ENTER TITLE OF STREAM HERE

    </ASX>
    That code will allow you to create a playlist with all your favorite streams on it, so you don't have to make a bunch of separate files. Once again, just copy and paste into a wordpad/any word editor and save as an ASX file.

    As far as the actual content of the streams, I'm not sure if the stuff in them is that great, but hopefull you can find something you like :-)

    EDIT: Silly me, forgot to actually attach the file

    Here's a slightly modified version of the first file. (Hope you don't mind Dinomon. ) I added C-SPAN, C-SPAN2, AND C-SPAN3.
    But, I still can't get CNN to work.
    Dinomon, can you post the NBC URL, too?
    Thanks!

    i think i found this TVU player mentioned in one of the threads on this site. can you find the urls streams that this site sends out to the TVU Player? or are the streams formatted in a way that only their player can decode?

    you'll have to d/l the player to see all those channels: TVU Player version v2.3.2beta10

    Check out some of the links from this page: http://home.versatel.nl/c.pootjes05/tv.htm
    Just popped a few on my PC and WMPlayer played them great! (Some are dead, but others are good and I haven't seen them listed before.)
    (Haven't had a chance to try them on my Treo, yet--in the middle of a backup.)

    UPDATE: Well, tried it on my 700Wx. Lots of them work great, and are one's I never heard of before, but like most streaming URLs, some have changed and are dead. All in all, a pretty good page of links.
    Credit due to PalmAddicts where I saw this listed.
