I've read several posts here that talk about each one but I've never seen a comparison and would really to hear some feedback and experiences with each.

I know Sprite is the "standard" but in my 7 years of using a pocketpc, Sprite has had more screw ups than anything. SPB Backup has been pretty good. I just found Sunnysoft and will be trying it as well.

Edit: I spelled SPB wrong in the poll. Sorry about that!

I've used Sprite to resto three times and each time it worked almost "too" well, even replicating the problems that I was having that made me do the hard reset in the first place!

I just tried the Sunnysoft Backup app and I must say, it is really lacking in speed and the ability to override the system to backup "in-use" items.

The one thing I do like about it is the ability to sync your backup app with your desktop at scheduled times. That's pretty cool! However, because of the other issues listed above, I will be removing this app and going back to the combination of SPB and Sprite.

The only thing good about Sprite is that it's FREE. I like SPB MUCH better....you get what you pay for as they say....

I use them both. It's funny to read these comments, though, as Sprite was always the Holy Grail of backup programs in the PPC world.

I agree...I used to use it, but SPB just seems to be easier for me to set up and use...just my 2 cents.

I agree, I feel SPB is a better and more consistent product.

Do any of these (or any other for that matter) backup programs that can backup and restore the "settings" to the treo? For example, on a hard reset, I lose the way my Today screen looks, side button, speed dials, BT connections, etc., etc.,

I am not sure what you are saying. For the MOST part, SPB backup puts all settings, buttons, speed dials back they way they were before the hard reset. There are some things you lose such as ringers, misc settings, files, etc.

I don't know about the MS side of it, but on the Palm side REsco backup is the best hands down. I think they make a MS version

Spb has been ROCK solid for me on several occasions. I love it.

I use Sprite and as far as I can tell it backs up everything. Settings, buttons, Today options, speed dials... Everything

Note the newsest version 5.1 is now available on the Palm site. It creates self extracting .zip files.

I gotta say, spb back up has saved me many of times, with no negative side effects. Especially with all the installing and hard resetting involved in the treo 750 sms threader app

Sunnyside was like one of the first, not impressive when you look at Sprite backup and SPB.

    Their support purely sucks.

Update Rom on phone, it ended up changing the registration info, six emails to support, no response, stay away from Sunnyside.

Sunnysoft is lousy, I couldn't even get it to display correctly on my 6700, not even after a hard reset when it was the only app on the device, it runs with errors and does an incomplete jumbled restore.

Sprite gives me errors when backing up and when restoring.

SPB Backup has worked flawlessly on the 3 restores I have done with it.

I think i have a similar question: I just got a replacement device from Verizon.. I want to backup all my settings (that ive made with UI Tweaker) And keep programs like SoftReset.. Is this possible? Basically to back my current phone up - and mirror everything to the new replacement device?

Yes, I just used SPB to do exactly that after I had to swap my phone to a new one. Worked perfectly.

Um...yeah. I have done it a few times on a KJAM. It's a backup program dude, of course you can do a full restore.
