Um...yeah. I have done it a few times on a KJAM. It's a backup program dude, of course you can do a full restore.
Ok, well i will try it.. Are there any special steps i should take? Do i need to backup to my computer or just my storage card?

Backup to your storage card is fine. Spite allows you to create a self-exe (just click on it to restore) or a restore file in which you launch Sprite first then select the file to restore.

Sprite Backup is recommended, it works stable and it has more useful functiones than Spb.

With Sprite Backup you can choose to backup to PC from device, or run a backup on PC. It is very handy. Sprite also supports Upgrade Mode Restore which allows restore operations between identical devices with different ROM versions.

Has anyone been successful with restoring from a Sprite Backup to a different device? I am going to have to have my 700w replaced, and it would be nice to migrate all my settings over (themes, software, and reghacks, etc.) to the new (refurbished probably) 700w. I have used Sprite very successfully in the past...just never attempted this.

Here are the steps via spritesoftware.com

Nonetheless, I'll try it and let everyone know how it goes. I guess if it doesn't work I can always hard reset and will have lost nothing...except some time.

Interesting comparison, however, that was SPB's version 1.0 back almost 9 months ago and as far as I can tell, everything that was a negative has been resolved with the latest version.

Personally, I've just had much better luck with SPB...

Well, holy cow,,,,,, I will definitely switch to Sprite then......

I haven't bought SPB yet. I have used it 3 times to restore, but have never kept it on the device. I have downloaded it just before needing to hard reset and then uninstalled it after the restore so the "trial run out" doesnt get flagged on my device. I know, I know What a cheap skate,,,, but I like to fully, fully evaluate software before purchasing

I am going to also request more information about using Sprite to backup my 700WX and restore to a new replacement 700WX. I have no doubt that it will backup all the registry, programs, data, etc., but will it also cause a problem by trying to restore information that was proprietary to the original device (Like Mac Addres or cell radio Id information?) Hope that makes sense.

Bump...anyone know the answer to the question right above? Thanks for your help.

I have confirmed SPB did a mess restore to a new device. Treo 750v to 700wx. tried free Sprite, not perfect but good enough.

software installed Battery pack pro, Resco explorer, Sprite backup SPB back up. And also loaded mails, outlook items, smss, and GPRS and blue tooth configured.

"PC Agent", with this tool you can do backup to PC or from PC and restore from PC.

Plus, you can customize your backup as much as you like in Advanced Mode, such as, "File Mangement" to limit the backup file space usage, exclution list to exclude a programe or a file you do not wish to backup or restore.

Sprite Backup has been working flawlessly, I like that I can do selective restores similar to Palm OS backup apps. With testing the neta of the Palm Messaging App Sprite has saved me numerous times. I have a daily backup job set to go off at 1am every day.
