The only time I get that error is when I try to send an mms from the palm app. How much free program memory is available when you get that error? Do you see your free memory dropping the more you use sms?

Yeah, so the only things I have in my startup folder are:
    Magic Button
    PdaNet
    Voice Command

I don't have a services link, but I do have a services process. The opsys starts services, devices, gwes, and a few other processes automagically.
I'm thinking the problem is that the uninstall doesn't remove the new dll's that are manually copied to \Windows from beta3, but it does uninstall the new poutlook, tmail, messaging related files. So when you soft reboot after the uninstall you fall back to using the original poutlook and tmail, but the new rom files don't work with those versions.

So to avoid the hard reset in your case you would have to remove those manually copied files from \Windows prior to doing the uninstall.

    Steps.
    1) soft reset
    2) use Resco to remove the manually copied files from \Windows
    3) uninstall beta3 and reboot. (everything should come up fine at this point)
    4) install beta4 and reboot. All should be good.

I'm still using beta2 and have had zero problems. lol, Not touching a thing! I'll update when you guys get the mms thru the palm messaging app fixed.

PS. I'm still using the messaging key for my MMS/OUTLOOK emails and like that better with the today link for the palm messaging plus I can access the palm messaging from phone alarm. Great job hannip!

    hehe, if it isn't broke...

Getting mms working is definitely a challange. I've tried copying the entire rom contents to a folder and running the Palm Messaging app from there, but it still gave me that out of memory error. I think either I need to load a missing service or I need to replace a dll that is loaded at boot time. I just need some time to hack at it.

After hard reset, I install beta 3 and it works now except for mms. My pocket out look, I can attach picture, and voice but not file, while some one here has problems attaching pictures and voice? Thanks.

Yes, it seems like it gives me that "out of memory" error after I have been using threaded text for awhile...not a whole lot of texts or threads, but a fair amount. Also, when it happens, I have a few programs running in the background, but no too bad:

    Storage Memory: 29.87 MB
    Program Memory: 39.36 MB

That seems like MORE than enough...?????????

RJMoose that seems like more than enough memory, you shouldn't be getting those errors. When I had one of the betas I got that message, I have never seen it since. That is definitely more than enough memory.

    1) download pimgdll.zip to your pc and extract it to pimgdll.dll (not sure where you got pimdlg.dll from).
    2) connect device to pc via activesync. click Explore and drag pimgdll.dll to a folder on your device such as My Documents. (you can disconnect from pc at this point)
    3) Use Resco Explorer to copy pimgdll.dll to \Windows. Soft reset.
It worked. Thanks. I was doing everything from the Treo itself. Downloaded the zip, extracted and pasted to the windows folder all from within the treo using resco. That didnt work. When I did it from the comp, it worked.

    Thanks.

Do you know what manually copied files we need to remove? I don't want to remove the wrong ones.

They are listed in the HowTo doc that came with the beta zip file. Here is the list of dll's for beta3 that you should remove from \Windows to completely uninstall beta3. Remove these prior to running the uninstall since it makes you reboot.

    htmlnote.dll
    mailtrns.dll
    mdsmailsvc.dll
    MsgMnuExt.dll
    MsgMnuExt_enUS.dll
    poutlook.exe
    tkitapp.exe
    tmail.exe
    tmailutl.dll
    tmarshaller.exe
    tpcutil.dll
    webview.dll

    beta4 adds this one.
    pimgdll.dll
