so this must be a problem with the 6700. Are there any 6700 users out there to confirm this is not an isolated problrm with me.

I know sprintjunkie said he saw a simular problem with the 6700.

I left a message on PDA phonehome 6700 board to see if I could find someone to test it with. Maybe there is an updated file in the treo700 that the 6700 doesnt have. I believe it is an older phone and not the same AKU level. Is there a program to get a directory scrap of file names and date modified and so forth so I could compare the windows dir of mine and the t700.

    I think it's a 700wx to "Phone X" issue.

    700wx to 700wx works.

700wx to 6700 = "the actual message the contents of the message cannot be displayed" or something similar.

I can receive from a 6700 just fine.

Thanks takmsdsm. If this test shows its a 6700 issue I found a remote command program to run dir on the PPC.

    http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDo...oad-12142.html

install it and run it. you get a command prompt. run the following command.

    rcmd dir \windows\* output.txt

The output file will be in you program files directory on your computer, not the handheld. attach that to a post and we can compare the file dates and sizes.

EDIT: this program runs on your PC with the handheld attached to it via the sync cable.

No, I think this is the 700wx/ASCII/Binary Sprint Network issue.

    I can also confirm:
    ----------------------------------------------------
6700 to others phones = Works

    700wx to 700wx = Works

    700wx to Email = Works

    Phone "X" to 700wx = Works

700wx to Phone "X" = This message cannot be displayed

    -----------------------------------------------------
    I have tried w/ two 6700s.

I think this is just the ongoing 700wx/Sprint SMS issue (related to the ascii/binary encoding) problem as it MIRRORS it exactly.

    Anyone exhibit anything differently?

I don't think so because I had this problem with the first beta of the Palm app. I finnally uninstalled it altogether because of all the other problems. When uninstalled I could read texts from Raspsters treo 700 again. Then when I installed the finalized app yesterday, the texts started having the problem again. It has to be some relation between a file on the treo 700 and the PPC 6700.

Odd question: anyone who DOESN'T have Threaded text installed and who can test?

    lol

Also don't forget that we had zero texting problems when we went back to the outlook SMS with both phones.

yeah it must be an issue with 6700 because everyone that I text on a 6700 gets that error message

verified. After a hard reset i can see the texts fine. it has to be a diference in the 700 and 6700. can someone run the rcmd file i linked above and post a list of the windows folder files.

Q: Has anyone with a 700wx successfully SMS to another, non-6700 Sprint phone?

Wideawake, who could not read my 700wx messages on his 6700 said this:
works fine from a flip sanyo to the 6700 and back

    I'm trying but get errors:

    unknown parameter: output.txt

    EDIT
: It works with out the "output.txt" part, then I just manually copied the output and pasted to a txt file.
