    I have had the 700WX for about a month now and have decided that I am going to try and keep this phone for 2 years. My problem is now it is starting to turn into "just another phone." I am beginning to lose interest and would like to know what kinds of things you people do with your phone, so that I don't get bored so quickly. Let me start with what I use mine for. I use it for a Phone, check email, SPB Finance to track my accounts, SiriuCE to listen to satellite radio and TCPMP to listen to MP3's. I know there was a thread like this for the Palm OS series, but I thought I would start one for Windows Mobile, since it has some different capabilities.

    I don't use mine for a phone, I just carry it around in case I get mugged. Its like a brick and surely would take someone out. Other than that, I like to beam applications at people's heads, wondering if it will cause them to develop a tumor

    I love that where the guys are in the locker room comparing phones and he throws it at his friend.

    I use mine for phone, e-mail, calendar, contacts, weather using Weather Panel and I also get traffic cam pictures when it updates the weather, pcAnywhere to access my work desktop PC if needed, view my work network cameras, and web when away from computer.

    Regular functions but also use a Citrix client to access my office computers to do work while away. It works very well even considering the small screen.

    As of now...

    * Phone
    * PIM
    * Contacts
    * E-mail (personal and work)
    * Internet
    * Weather (WeatherPanel)
    * Slingbox
    * Virtual Earth Maps

    And that's what comes to mind right now... plus, I have not found yet the best Today screen set up, so we'll see

    Iím a last year pharmacy student, so I use mine as a database. The major program I use is Lexi-Comp for drug information. Two minor programs I rarely use are Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy & HIV/AIDS Therapy.

    I donít have a data plan so I donít do most of the fun stuff that most of you folks do, but tomtom 6 is looking pretty cool to me so I might be tempted to give it a try!

    encyclopedia
    atlas
    dictionary

    yellow pages
    spell checker
    Chat with TC folks
    Mapping
    Alarm clock

    And to answers lifes little questions like when my daughter asks "Daddy what do caterpillars eat?"

    Or my nephew asks "Uncle James what does a Yugo look like?"

    How is using this phone as a remote? I think I remember people using this on the 650 but had problems b/c the beam wasnt very strong so they had to be next to the tv to control it. At that rate, may as well save your battery and manually change the channels right from the tv...

    It works well I can change the channel at the gym discreetly without ticking off fellow exercise enthusiasts.

    The may be 20 televisions at the gym and the only open elliptical is always square in front of some stupid show like pimp my tractor!!!

    what remote control program are you using?
  17. #17
    I have that NR Remote or whatever and the signal is just not strong enough on the infared... you have to be close to the tv to actually make it change the channels... They said 6-12ft... My ***... It has to be more like 4-5ft if that.

    All I basically can do with my Verizon 700w is use it as a phone and check my outlook mail via an exchange server at work. I really can't even do anything on the internet link like internet radio or video clips because any link I hit on the page comes up and complains of not enough memory. Any fix for this? My internet is pretty useless on this fancy @ss phone.

    Thanks........JD

    I use Novii. The IR is weaker than it was on the 6700 but its good enough to get Oprah off the tele without the stair stepping, soap opera watching house wives knowing that I'm the one who changed it to CNN.
