Having last used an m505 3 or so years ago, having had a multitude of freeware on it that I found through threads such as this on various forums, having just purchased a 700wx, having searched these forums for freeware 700w and freeware 700wx, and having not found much at all, I would appreciate any non-sarcastic, non-facetious answers to robodude's question.

Is there a reason why those of you with more experience and wisdom, etc., can't turn this thread into an indispensable, go-to thread? Thanks for your help.

Right On! Prolly disgrunlted VZW 700W owners jealous of Sprint's 700WX. I am one of those but at least I didn't take the time to post a sarcastic reply.

Well judging if software is good or the "best" varies from person to person. It also depends on what type / kind of software you need and what you're going to be using it for. Go to Handango and Pocketgear and take a look at the free software they have. Try them out and see if you like them.

Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming! One thing I like about threads like this one hopefully will be is that I can often get a general idea about whether a program is even worth testing before I go searching on my own.

OK then, sorry for being sarcastic, but the idea that we need YET ANOTHER thread listing all the places to get free PPC software, and with opinions on which ones are good and bad, is just stupid. Just use the search tool and you'll find dozens of threads like this. Usually they're labeled with things like "killer apps". Yes, some of the killer apps are not free, but its a free market economy right - you want good stuff you gotta pay, and $10 is not that bad for some of the commercial apps.

It woould help if you actually told us what you use the Treo for, and what apps you're looking for.

Here's a small, easy to use application manager by which you can close programs:

ROBODUDE thanks for opening this thread. People like you make the difference! Thanks for those who contribute too.

As for PSB22 and CODYPPC they should be kicked out of this thread for being rude, selfish and so "wise".

I enjoy my treo700WX and always try to find new applications and post them in here. Some are free (f) other are not bt are worth paying for.
I find that Slingmedia with the Slingbox to watch TV is excellent as well as Skype(f). [B][B]Directory assistant(f) is very helpful. Splash ID for your passwords, Yahoo go (f) and Earthcomber (f)are ok.
I find that StyleTap to be able to use PalmOS programs is akward and slow. Mundu Radio(f) and File Z (f)are good too.
For medical prigrams Merck medicus and Epocrates are escential and are free.

Which version of TCPMP is the one to download?

Isn't Filez only for the Palm OS? Are you using it through StyleTap?
