    I just talked to sprint, no new information. I have to wait "up to 51 hours" for Tech support to call me back

    that's almost comical.

    On top of that, talking to Retentions got me nowhere. They gave me an extra 200 messages, which I was due anyways (they up'd their plan last month from 100 for $5 to 300 for $5, so they did me no real favors).

    I was basically told to call back once the problem is fixed to get credit and then maybe they could help me with more discounts. Nice service.

    meanwhile, a user at ppcgeeks got this just today:

    Well I spoke with Retentions and I got an additional 10% on top of my corporate discount and unlimited text messages for 8 dollars for two years.
    That's really annoying. I was nice and polite too. Sheesh.

    I spoke to retentions and decided to pull the plug on the i830. I will miss the camera, but it DOES have AKU2.6, 520Mhz, etc etc. It will cost me 100 bucks, although someone else was offered the phone for 50, its still a good deal.

    I decided that Sprint and Palm are both to blame here, and since I really can't do anything to Sprint, I can do something to PALM, which is not use their product. 40 days is absurd, I'm sorry. I may be "cutting my nose off to spite my face," but after speaking to Palm directly I realized that they just don't care, and ASAP means "when its done."

    If Palm does indeed fix this issue on or before 12/9/06, I can return that phone and get the 700wx again w/o a problem. But I will only do so if they fix the bluetooth issue, I really don't care about anything else at the moment.

    Palm will not rush out with a fix. If you remember when the 700w came out there was a serious issue where thousands of 0 length files would end up under \windows\temp causing activesync to fail. Palm knew about the error for months while everyone was busy doing hard resets weekly to get around the problem. They came out with the fix 4 months later.

    Yep, thats exactly why I don't wwant to sit and wait for one. This has been that case with them for YEARS, do you remember the 650? DBCachetool? Without that programs that phone was borderline useless for MONTHS before they "improved memory handling." And to this day they never FIXED it, just IMPROVED it.

    Will Sprint issue a credit for all these messages I've received today, if I call them?

    I only have a 250 message plan and have received the same message almost 100 times today alone.

    definitely call them. I did get a $5 credit for this month after all. Though it's probably a 1 time adjustment.

    1. First I called into tech. support. They suggested a factory reset and re-program of the phone would stop the message from being delivered. Does anyone else think that would work? I'm skeptical about going through the entire back up, wipe, restore process if it's not even going to work.

    2. I then spoke to customer service and they only show 1 message on my account since last night. That means the 100 copies of that one message aren't showing up and I'm not being charged, yet.

    as for texting......my g/f sends me text messages all the time and she is on sprint. 2 of my best friends are on cingular and we text all the time. my parents are on verizon and i text them about 2 or 3 times a day (and vise versa). and i've only received a few (2-5) text msgs from co-workers who are on t-mobile (this was actually 2 days ago heading into a meeting....they were texting me to see how much longer i'd be late for the meeting).

    not sure if what i gave you helps, but if you need more info, let me know.

    I called Sprint when this started, I'm not being charged at all for text messaging until this is fixed. My regular charge is $5 a month unlimited text messaging on both my 700p and 700wx. I'm paying the $5 for the 700p, but they're not charging me for the 700wx. If text messaging wasn't working at all (we have crazy work arounds) I'd consider getting rid of my 700wx, but I love this device, I couldn't switch to another Windows Mobile device or BlackBerry. I also have a 700p so I understand you guys jumping ship if you only have 1 device 9I know I'm crazy to have 2,lol) Keep calling Sprint guys!!


    With the workarounds my Verizon, and Cingular friends are all getting my texts and I'm getting theirs. We shouldn't have to do the workaround, but at least it works.

    My guess at why Palm is taking so long to resolve this is that Palm is directing most of its resources towards the release of the 680 and 750 Treos on Cingular due out later this month. I see no other reason why it takes a global company over a month to fix this problem.

    yes, they just are not putting all the resources that they could behind this problem...they already have our money, they get nothing by releasing a patch sooner other than having a small percentage of their customers off their back...the only real way to speed things up is to put pressure on both palm and sprint...atleast in my opinion..

    I dont mean to be an asshat suggesting this, but in my opinion, its time for a class action suit. They advertise SMS as a feature, and it is useless since I can only SMS sprint users, and everyone else fails. Their CEO wont listen to us unless we come at him with legal means.
