Is there software available to view and edit the pop-up word list on the 700w? Anyone know what the file is called, and can it be opened and edited with a common application?
    Thanks much.

    Found here.

    http://dmitriy.geels.googlepages.com/dictionaryeditor

The file is dyncompdict.dat You can drag it from the desktop, edit it and drop it back on the PPC overwriting the original. You may also delete it from the PPC if you only wish to clear the autocomplete memory. A new one will be created.

What I would like is a reg edit that tells autocomplete to stop adopting new words.

Just because I can't spell shouldn't cause my PPC to pick up my bad habits!!!

    Super! Greatly appreciate the help.

Just to clarify. If you choose to just delete the dyncompdict.dat file from the windows folder it will clear the words that autocomplete has learned from the user. It won't clear the built in world list.

I seem to get a lot of duplicates...the same word on top as priority...then again listed in the same window. Are the built in and learned lists separate, or will they be listed twice if in both lists?

Quick question for users. What are the symbols (&) in front of the words when viewing the list? Thanks

I think this is a bug. I noticed this also. The user adopted words in the dyncompdict file could have words that are the same as words in the built in list as long as the weight or priority is greater. But then the autocomplete program should not display the word from the built in program. Did I convey that well?

As far as the symbols I don't know, I deleted the program shortly after installing it 4 months ago. I can only guess it relates to weight. Mabey it is just not displayed correctly because of a font issue, because I thought weight was catagorized as 1, 2, 3, etc.....

Thanks. I deleted the program quickly too...just too many buggy things in it. I was able to open the data file and just edit it there. The information on deleteing it is helpful, as you can zap it and just start fresh with learned words.
    Thank you all.

Okay, once again, am I missing the obvious?

I installed both DictMgr and DictionaryEditor and when I open either of these apps in my 700wx, there no lists of words. When I try to load the dictionary file, it doesnt even find any dictionary database file (custom OR main).

What am I doing wrong? Thanks advance.

I went a head and DL dictionary editor, opened it, hit the soft key for file then load main.

It is always blank until I load the main file. I have word completion dictionary editor version 1.3.2342........

But I found no use for it. I just delete the dyncompdict file once a week when It gets to full of reallly basd speeling errers

Ok. Open notes type dyncomp then close notes the hit power button......... count to 30 the see if load main is still gray.

Load main is only gray for me if I deleted the file and haven't typed misspelled words since. Or it is also gray for the first 10 seconds the first time I opened it.

I just tried deleting the dyncompdict.dat file, & soft reset.. The "learned" words are still popping up.. It didnt get rid of them.. Why?

Which of these works GOOD? No bugs or anything like described above? Which has someone been using for awhile no problems?
