I've been looking for a Today Screen battery meter that will show a % remaining. I would like it to sit in the bottom right corner of the screen just above the Menu button. Of course, free is good and small is even better. I've seen several pretty nice ones and in fact I'm going to try this PowerStatus.

I've been searching for what I want all day and haven't had any luck.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the post but those take up a bit more screen real estate than what I'm looking for. Any other ideas?

Not sure if it's compatible with WM5 though.

I use this one on my 700WX.

    Battery Meter

It does what you want (sits on the bottom right above the menu) and works perfectly. Just $5.00 at handango.

EDIT: Oops.. the link died . I put up the handango link. This is the best I have tried (simple and works).

How do you turn off the battery meter at the top?

I looked at that one already. But, it resides in the top of the screen, not the bottom. Also, I read one of the reviews which said, "On WM5 HTC Wizard: Needs re-installing after every soft reset."

I use Phone Alarm Lite for it's profiles and you can have a battery meter as part of that.

    Just an idea.

I use Spb Pocket Plus. It shows the meter on the very top as dashes. I dont really use the Today Screen. Just the meter.

Here's an option posted on PPCGeeks by malatesta. It replaces the current battery icon - it uses NO additional real estate. Look on page two of the thread for the version that displays percentage...

althought that is hands down the best solution, at least when I tried it weeks ago it had no effect on the 700wx. Maybe others can try/confirm?

I'm fairly positive the 700wx uses a Palm battery meter (something callded battery.dll or something in \windows) and I was thinking of asking that developer if he could modify that .dll. I think I'll have to use TotalCommander to get the file though as it's read-only.

no effect either here Mal like you said prob uses diff code for the battery meter since its palm.
I really want that one to worktoo because it is the best solution. All the others only help if youre on the home screen. I need to know when im browsing/etc. how much battery i have left and clicking the icon every few min to get the % is annoying. Would like it to be right up there at all times in all programs

My bad - I should have tried it first. I had just remembered seeing it on PPCGeeks...

If you or someone else could extract this file:

    \windows\BatteryIndicator_enUS.dll

zip it and post in that forum at XDA and ask Jimm98y if he could look at it/modify it, that'd be a start:

Anybody try the program? I downloaded and installed it, but it doesn't change the icon for me....it says that it installed fine, but it also said it may not work due to it being an older program than my operating system (something like that).....any ideas? I already tried to soft reset, but still nothing

KeyguardTime+ works as the page pops up when you hit the keyguard. It has a battery % gague, a clock, dates, events, memory meter, signal strength indicator. It is freeware as well - you can easily download it with google. The version I'm using (for over 2 months now) is meant for the 650 but you can use it on the 700p. Just choose 'proceed' when you open the appkication.

That's great that this works on the 650 and 700p, but, this is a 700w/wx thread

This is neither free nor in the right place on your screen, but I use the plugin that comes with Resco Explorer. See a screenshot here:
