Has anybody heard anything about the support for BBconnect (or something similar) on the 750?

At work they use Blackberries for mobile email but I dont fancy switching to a BB and hope there is a way around that..

It does support BBC with a free download from Palm.

The 750v does? I don't think so. BB connect is only for the Palm OS (for now).

Just wanted to let everyone know that although you can't get the BB client from palm yet, there is a version floating around at XDA Developers forum.

I installed it yesterday and it seems to be working quite well but I need to wait untill Monday to see how well it works under work circumstances!

Here is where you can find the the install files and manual or the treo 750v:
    http://euro.palm.com/de/de/products/...ect/getit.html

The page is in German. You want to download:

    install files
Für BlackBerry Internet Service™ und BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ ("desktop" installer - 16.5MB)
    Manual
BlackBerry Connect Hanbuch (in englischer Sprache)

Let me know how it works for you

I already saw a 750v online somewhere that was running BB software.

Exactly I lost the link. Thanks!

Interesting. Thanks for the links. It's very tempting but I don't know if I'll try it out. I've been using ActiveSync over Exchange on my 700wx and notice that email's get delivered about 2 seconds after my BB. Plus, it syncs way better than the BB. But above all that, it's cheaper than using BB service

Will BB Connect completely replace the Exchange Activesync option? I would like to be able to sync a current account via exchange activesync and also have a seperate @blackberry.xxx.com email address synced with the treo, is this possible? Or will everything have to be done via the bbconnect software with its tiny sent attachment limit...

Good question. I know you can, I do, have a BB device on one phone and the same email account using ActiveSync over Exchange on another phone.

I'm also wondering if this will be like Goodlink where the Today lookup field doesn't work since it's using BB and not ActiveSync.

Do you mean you have both the blackberry email and the exchange account on the same phone? Because that is what I wanted to do..

Has anyone tried BBConnect on the 750? I tried the push option on activesync and basically drained my battery in 8hours. Does BBC work better? what about Contact syncing? notes etc?

    Thanks

I have reviewed the manual for BBC and this is making me want this phone even more. My perfect phone was a Treo running WM that I could switch to BBC when I go out of the country so internationally I can use our BES and the Cingular unlimited Intl data plan. From what I have read the 8525 is able to do the same thing sicne I have downloaded the BBC software for that phone as well.
Now it is a waiting game to see which of these drops first. I am hoping for the Treo!

Does anyone know where to get BBconnect specifically for the treo 750v?

Where did you get BBC software for the 8525 (since it's unreleased)? Is this something available on the Cingular website?
