The whole point is to get more people to take Palm to task on their false advertising. Many people purchased these devices expecting to get that feature only to find out that they lied on their website. I say lied, because they knew damn well that this feature was not included, yet it was talked about in the press release leak and it is still stated on their website. This is the kind of stuff that HP used to get sued over in class actions. Saying the device had this or that only to find out that they lied also. I dont think that Palm could be inept enough to not know what is on this device, so I consider them to be lying. Other than that, it is a great device.

I was making the point that now Palm seems to be responding with a template/standard answer....THAT was the use of posting palm's replies....get it?

Now, take you and your 5 posts and add something productive to the thread....Troll

well if you know what the two letter word "NO" means, then you should know what the answer is. whats so productive about criticizing somebody? and what has standard templates got to do with the functionalities of our devices? does it change the answer that it doesnt support threaded messages? which I presume is the topic here!

I never made mention of the 750V. Guess they created a form reply.

Just responding to a statement in the thread.....read the entire thread before making stupid statements

exactly! you are one of those immature posters who ask questions when they already know the answer. and btw, i was able to recover a mail from palm two months ago and guess what it says on the disclaimer (see below). why did you guys omit this when posting... this is what you called stupidity (posting something that you are not allowed).

    Sincerely,

    Anthony

after reading this i had to send an email. here is what i wrote...

"i am more than a little concerned after purchasing a treo 700wx from you. i was under the impression that it had threaded text messaging as your web site states.

here is the text from your site...

    Text messaging.2
Send brief text messages to colleagues, friends, and others, using the built-in messaging application. To save time, insert predefined text phrases such as, "call me" or "on my way." You can even create your own frequently used phrases. Threaded text messages in a single chat view let you keep the conversation going.

i am not referring to msn messenger, that is IM and nothing to do with what you advertised on your site.
this is a feature i was looking forward to and one of the reasons i bought the phone, i thought it might have been a hidden feature but after coming across treocentral forums and reading about other users troubles i have come to the conclusion that palm does not care much for their customers.

this is something that should be fixed right away(not the site language, but the phone).

my state attny. gen. has been notified because false advertising is a crime and one HP had to learn the hard way. i hope you will not have to do the same."

    hope that gets there attention!

No. You're the one who's wrong here. You seem to have missed the point a few times. Let me see if I can help.

The title of this post was SARCASM. The rest of the post is NOT.

We all know the answer. NONE of us has asked Palm expecting a different answer. We've been surprised to received different responses on occasion.

What we're doing is telling Palm that we'd like all of the features that we paid for and that Palm ADVERTISED to induce our purchase of the 700wx.

So, while we may asking "qustions," our real purpose it to REGISTER COMPLAINTS under the guise of confusion over a missing feature.

While I admit it's a dasterdly rouse, it shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

here is what palm told me

    Dear Matthew:

Thank you for contacting Palm Technical Support. My name is Edmund.┬ I understand that you are concerned about the feature of the TreoÔäó 700wx to support threaded message.┬ You also heard that this is support in the 750v.

Matthew, we apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. Threaded messages are actually not supported in the 700wx. However, this feature is supported in the GSM Windows® units like the 750. In the mean time, I will raise your concern to a higher-level support so that it will be noted and so the website can be corrected. If updates would be available, it would surely be posted on our website.

Matthew, we want to make sure that your issue is resolved.┬ If you need further assistance, or if you have other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. You can also find more information about Palm products, including troubleshooting articles and frequently asked questions at:

    http://www.palm.com/us/support

A Customer Satisfaction Survey will be emailed to you shortly.┬ We hope you will take the time to provide us with feedback about your support experience as it will help us in our effort to continually improve our services.

questions. is this really worthy of a class action law suit? do class action lawsuits cost money? what can we expect if we win this law suit?

I have never sued anybody, not that i'm going to. I am, however, very unsatisefied with the replies we have got. just removing the infoe mation of there site isn't really cutting it.

can we get back to the issue on hand?

I have yet to hear back from Tier 2, even though I was told my request was being escalated. I am going to make a call today if I have time, because that in itself is totally wrong.

FWIW, at the Palm event last night launching the WX I got some pretty good info about threaded sms actually being left out because of a carrier issue. Something about the way WM5 and Sprint identify messages that the Treo wasn't ready for by launch, I would imagine and it was hinted, we will see an update soon. Now how soon is soon!

...and Kel if you are so angry about entire emails being posted dont read them.

    Thanks!

    Andy

these are the replies we expected, we'll have this app even if Palm doesn't officially give it to us,lol. Also Palm told Treonauts that they would be releasing the threaded mssaging app as an update for the 700w and 700wx.

Technical excuses are just that - excuses. If sprint provides enough identifying information to do threaded sms on the treo 700p, the same information should be available on the wx. If wm5 doesnt mangle to sms on the gsm network it wont do it on cdma either. Hell, all the use to thread is probably just the recipient and time!

Palm has been telling a lot of lies recently, such as blaming MS for only having bluetooth 1.2, when HTC has been doing bluetooth 2 for more than 6 months already.
