We also need a registry dump. You can do this by installing the Resco registry editor. Start the registry editor and from the root of the registry tree "Edit->Select All" to select the 4 top folders then use the stylus to click and hold and a popup will appear. Select Export, enter a filename and save. Zip up the reg file and upload here.

    Thanks for your help!

Looking at the registry it looks like the files we want are:
    messaging.exe
    messagingplugin.dll
    messaging.lnk
    Treo Classic.mid - already exists on treo's
    smsTrigger.exe
SMS_Providers.dll - not sure we need. Already on treo's.
    SMSReceiver_Dll.dll

and any registry entries related to them.

I am having problems trying to get this memory dump.

I get to stage 5 and get the following error message.

pdocread.exe is not a recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
    Nokia 3210 > Nokia 3310 >Palm Vx > Palm M105 >Treo 180g and Nokia 8850 > Treo 270 > Treo 600 > Sony TH55 > Tapwave Zodiac 2 > Treo 650 GSM > Imate KJam > Treo 750v

I just tried this. After unzipping itsutils.zip to C:\itsutils you need to go to the build dir to run pdocread.

    cd c:\itsutils\build

then follow the steps from there.

    pdocread -l
    .
    .
    .

So at step 9 in the instructions it talks about him getting an error "ERROR: ITReadDisk - Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.". Hopefully you won't run into this error and can avoid steps 10 11 12 13 and 14.

If you get to step 15 and verify the sizes look ok. Zip up the 3 files into something like treo750v_rom_dump.zip and ftp it to ftp.xda-developers.com.

From your dos command prompt and in the dir where the zip file exists issue:
    ftp ftp.xda-developers.com

At the User prompt enter: xdaupload
At the pw prompt enter: xda
At the ftp prompt enter: put treo750v_rom_dump.zip

Wait for it to complete. This may take a while depending on your isp's upload rate.
Then you can enter "quit" to get out of ftp. That's it!

Silver Sun, if you could copy and paste the output of the pdocread -l command here I can help you set up the commands to use to extract each piece.

BTW, when I tried this on my 700wx I had to change this registry setting for it to work.
    HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1

Did you make the registry change first?

    HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1

No, I haven't yet. I need to download a registry editor etc.. Switching back and forth between Mac OS X (my normal OS) and Windows takes time. I'll try to work on it this afternoon.
