According to the UK site, it has threaded SMS (with pictures to back this up)! I wonder why it was left off the wx eventhough the Sprint site says it has threaded SMS. I bet that the next upgrade to all the WM Treos will incorporate this new threaded SMS app.

I thought this model would not work for the US for data because of the frequency it runs on.

You may like to flash, but your phone shouldn't. LED Killer

It has a Samsung processor, not the old intel one.

    and 1200mAh battery.

Does it have HSDAP? I can't tell.

    It supports the following frequencies.......

    GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS radio,
    GSM bands: 850/900/1800/1900,
    UMTS bands: 850/1900/2100

1900 and 850 are what we use in the U.S.

On the Vodafone site it states

    Exclusive1 to Vodafone
    and

1 Exclusivity for a limited time period only
So that either means Cingular are getting the same model and/or there's going to be an unlocked version.

no it doesnt. UMTS and Edge only

    Smaller battery.

    No Wi-Fi.

    Silent on user memory.

    No SD card.

    No POS.

No US but that is as much a Cingular issue as a Palm one. It would be hilarious if T-Mo used this window to leapfrog Cingular and Palm on UMTS.

One more disappointing announcement from Palm.

since I dont have my 700wx anymore (couldnt get sprint signal), I dont remember, but the messaging app looks different to me. It looks like theres a new drop down box to switch folders.

Might not mean jack to those in the US but it's a notable anouncement from a European perspective

Smaller Battery - talk time is listed as the same as the 700w.
No Wifi - I agree here, especially in Europe, this will hurt Palm
No SD card - uses MiniSD instead
    No POS - Good.
No US - hopefully unlocked, but I doubt it. Vodafone paid a lot for this thing.
