OK, I'm willing to be corrected. I have a 700wx in my hand (so I am trying it).

I don't use exchange, I have POP3 and IMAP servers.

How do I set it to retrieve during specific hours? The only options I can find say retrieve every X minutes. If you are saying that you have to set this on an exchange server, that's great but of no use to me and don't make my previous statements incorrect.

Second, when I delete my e-mail from my device I still have access to them online. All this for free! No Chatter, Snapper, or other paid e-mail program. It is included! Maybe you should try WM5 so you don't state it can't do something when it actually does.

I understand your point but I have to disagree. I have to buy a device. If the device I can get doesn't do certain functions then it doesn't matter about theory.

You are right about Palm adding things like threaded SMS. But it's a moot argument. They are effectively the only supplier of the OS in devices. It's like arguing that Mac OS X doesn't have a certain feature but Apple does. They are effectively the same.

LT was talking about the OS's, not the specific hardware. The WM OS is more powerful than the POS. Ease of use is a separate issue.

You set the option to retrieve during peak times by going to Start -- Programs -- Activesync -- Menu -- Schedule -- Adjust peak times -- then set to retrieve e-mail manually during off peak times and as items arrive during peak times.

OK, just to clear these settings are only for Exchange, right? If so, thanks but doesn't help. I don't another mail server, I like the ones I have. I'm perfectly willing to admit I'm wrong, but an option that can only be used for Exchange doesn't qualify as a feature for POP3 and IMAP email servers.

You can forward your pop and imap accounts to a FREE Exchange account at www.mail2web.com and get free direct push. No more polling every x minutes. Definitely an option worth looking into.

    FWIW,

As I recall TMo got the Treo 650 in 9/04 followedby Cingular/ATT in 12/04 and the Unlocked/Unbranded 650 was released by Palm in mid 2/05. Please correct me, if I'm wrong. I know I bought my UL/UB 650 when they first came out in 2005.

My old signature shows the order number and date.
    Best,

I bought my unlocked gsm 600 in Singapore, where it had been available for months, when it was not available here. I bought my unlocked gsm 650 from Palm for $700- from Palm because that was the only channel available. Note that there are still no unlocked EVDO or UMTS phones available from Palm. Palm and its little games. For the angst that they put their customers through, I hope it really does improve their revenue.
