Just thought I would mention that when I installed the latest SCM software on my computer dated the end of July, when it was asking me what driver to install there was a selection for 700W and 700Wx or something like that. Maybe its the 700w without camera. Others should load it up and check it out.

The 700wx is coming to Sprint at the end of August.

The big rumor from people "in the know" is that it has twice the memory of the 700W.

    Even with more memory, I still couldn't hang with 240 x 240.
Besides, I have head that Documents to Go and Blazer on Palm is better then the MS conterparts.

Does pocket IE have flash support? After playing w/ a couple of WM5 devices I've grown to like it. I still like Palm, but am getting kinda tired of it.

Yes but it's limited to whatever the site you're visting is encoded with. Here is the Flash 7 for ppc site, here is a standalone free player and then there are the big guns like Netfront which does flash and java.

As far as Blazer and Pocket IE: you can't compare them. Blazer is a standard WAP type browser, limited to special formatted sites or going through something like Skweezer.

PIE represents more of a desktop browsing experience w/out reformatting the page (and Opera 8.6 is really like a desktop browser with tabs and scripting). It's also very versatile with plugins and addons.

Is one better than the other? Depends what you like and need. I can't stand the Blazer experience, I want to emulate my desktop as much as possible hence why I like PIE (with MultiIE) or Opera. Others want a more streamlined "mobile" experience so they have Blazer.

Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to Blazer. Not a freakin' clue.

This was on Engadget, I think someone else posted this in another section. It's supposedly the Sprint version of the 700w. They think it will be released when Verizon's exclusivity deal runs out.

    I have a 650 with...lemme check, Blazer (but I use Xiino with Fonts4OS5 because it's better).

    Good argument though.

Doesn't take too much to find it: Opera Mobile.

Heck you cant get tabs in PIE with MultiIE 4.0 or PIEPlus.

well, if you use Blazer and you think it's like a WAP browser then you really have never used a WAP browser.

FWIW: I think Blazer and PIE are more alike then different. I prefer Blazer.

Personally I have use both PIE and BLAZER, and I have to say I like BLAZER better. There are strong and weak point on each of the browser.

on blazer when you want to move up to the address bar ( you want to type in new web address) you would just press space bar but PIE can't do the same you would have to touch the screen.

in PIE I can't seem to scroll down by page rather than by line ( annoy me to death when you have to press down on d-pad continuestly just to scroll down large page).

Flash basically doesn't work well with both out of the box.

For me Blazer can access all of my financial site need. One site that PIE doesnot work and BLAZER does work is www.chase.com/creditcards (only blazer on 700 tho not 650).

Render time is equally slow, it's not that bad but nothing stellar to write about. I just type in address and just do something for couple minute and return to my treo. lol

Last but not least, BLAZER is definitely not WAP only browser. It does work on most of conventional website. Maybe not the fastest but no worst than PIE.

In PIE in WM5, if you scroll to the top of the page you get into the address bar.

Regarding the scrolling, its a real pity PIE is less configurable. You can however increase the scrolling speed to maximum to make this less of an issue.

On the chase bank site, what was not working?

Since the Sprint 700WX seems to have addressed the memory issue with the original 700W, maybe they've also improved on the one-handed-ness of WM5 on the Treo.

What needs to be improved with one-handed-ness? I feel the 700w is the most one-handed machine ever.

    Have you tried a 700P?

No. I switched from palm to WM several years ago, and I've been happy ever since.
