On the Advanced tab of the Speed dial setting, it has a check box that reads "Show voice mail buttons". What does that do?

It means that VOICEMAIL (assigned to 1) and anyother speeddials that you might have set up would show up on your Today screen

The 700w can show some VCR-like buttons for your voicemail, which is sorta neat.

If you've deleted your original voicemail speed-dial, you can re-set it up by doing the following in your advanced tab:

Extra digits: Your pwd and #
    Dial extra digits: check
    Show voicemail buttons: check
then enter these numbers under the buttons in this order:
    4 9 1 7 4 3

I've seen this before but can't recall - how then do I use the 491743 to operate VM like a VCR?

Call your voicemail and icons will show on the screen instead of the numbers. It prevents you from having to remember which number to use to delete (trash can icon), fast forward (>>), rewind (<<), or save (diskette) a message.

    It's really neat...
