With my setup, when I delete a message off the 700, the next time it does a send receive it deletes it off the server. If I leave the message in my inbox on the 700, it stays on the server.

If I delete the email, and it stays in the "Deleted" Folder then it will not load it again, but when I clear/delete mail out the deleted folder my server then loads the email into my inbox again... (using POP3 on Apache)

Try doing an Empty Deleted Items from the Tools menu. That should delete it from the mail server.

You need to do all 3 steps:
    1-Delete the message
    2-Empty deleted items
    3-Do another send/receive

The message is not actually deleted until you do the send/receive. I assume this is how the device tells you email server to trash the message.

This works perfectly for my POP account. I travel all the time, and use the Treo to stay on top of the spam crap that piles up. When I get home, my email is spam-free. Before this, I would come home to email that included HUNDREDS of spam messages.
