    I have an app that I want to start when the Treo boots (like PDAnet does). How do I add an item to the Startup folder, since it's looking for a shortcut, not the app itself?

    I dont know how to do it but the type of file is an LNK file. Essentially a pointer to the actual program files.

    Try this
    Use File Explorer, and go find your app. Tap AND hold. Select Copy
    Now go to the Windows\StartUp directory tap and hold on a blank sopt and select Paste Shortcut.

    (this has always worked through WM2003SE, not sure if it still applies for WM5, but give it a shot)

    Insertion's instructions are correct for WM5.0 too.
