Okay, so I converted some DVD's to avi using Pocket DVD studio. I assumed the Windows media player can run avi's, but when I went to play the movies, I got an error message. Am I screwed, or is there a way to play movies converted from DVD this way?

So far there's not - and a lot of people are looking into it. Besides, MS would have to do a lot more improvements than adding codecs to that software before it was as good as many freeware competitors' products.

    For codecs try:
    http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=5...se_id=225#r225

If you need the AAC codec do a google search.

... until you try to play the .avi files the original poster mentioned. Pocket TV is MPEG-1 format only.
