I think these rebates are only good for buy.com...
i got my 700w direct from Verizon, but if anyone can scan a rebate form and post, i wouldn't mind giving it a try to send in the rebate...

I've bought things from buy.com before. They are are reputable site. Man what a great price. I am tempted to move from Sprint to get that deal. I'm sure it will only last for a very limited time or a limited # of units.

wow this offer is good thru 3/31/06!

Hot damn. My agreement is up from sprint in march. I think there is going to be a new treo in my future.

Wow. Just wow. If Verizon can come down on their data plan to around $20/mo, I might take this and run.

Too bad it's only for new subscribers. I'd hop on that in a sec.

If your contract is up, you quit and then are a new subscriber

I did that last February and is one of the reasons I will only do a 1 year contract.

Don't ya love these rebates ?

"To qualify and redeem the rebate, and to avoid an equipment discount charge back of $250, complete and sign the rebate form, provide ....a copy of a wireless bill for this account dated between 150 days and 210 days after activation showing the previous balance paid in full. Claim must be postmarked no earlier than 180 days after activation and no later than 210 days after activation. Void where prohibited. Your rebate check will be mailed within 10-12 weeks from receipt of your rebate submission as described above."

5 -7 months before you can file and then 3 months to get a check.....geez bet 5 % of the customers die in that term we know another 50 % are gonna lose something that's required and 40% will give up nagging the company for a rebate check that was never sent.

HMMM, if they are already discounting the 700 that much what does that say about the amount they are selling? Did anyone see the 650 for that price within a couple of months of release? I think this may indicate the 700 is not selling as quick as they had hoped.

What is the term of the agreement with VZN? I would think it was 2 years, but I don't see it listed anywhere. This is a great deal, but I'm not going to lock into 2 years with anyone.

I got my 650 shortly after release for $79 after MIR. I don't believe this low price is indicative of anything other than the desire to sell as many as possible.

That price requires "Sign up for a Verizon Voice Plan $39.99 or higher with the $44.99 Unlimited Data Feature and get a $150 Voice and Data Mail-In Rebate with a new service subscription!" .. they go on to say one or two year .... is there's acarch soemwhgere that requires a two year ....

    IOW, $85 per month x 12 months = $1,120 1st year minimum.... $2,240 if ya get stuck w/ 2 year.

The Cingular 650 from Amazon OTOH is $179 with a $480 committment or $660...with unlimited data plam (mediaNet), that's another $240 or $900 total. So a 700w gonna cost ya at a minimum $220 more than a 650.

That doesn't quite explain why TC has same $200 rebate off $499 price and Buy.com has $200 off $299 price. Wonder if they subtracted the $200 twice by mistake

Oh why not just get the free one

There's NO WAY I'll pay $44.99/month for data. No frelling way!
  17. #17
    Me either.
    No data at that price.
I had to argue with the guy at the store. He didn't want to sell me the phone without a data plan.
Finally I got a CSR for data and was able to get them to let me go with no data.

It seems for this and other phones, they have had a bunsh of people opt for no data/pay per KB then scream when they get a $300 bill from Verizon.

Without a data plan, why do you want a treo 700w? The only hardware highlight of this device is high speed internet.

These are buy.com rebates, not Palm rebates. Buy.com often does that with popular gadgets.
