Verizon is marketing its EVDO as wireless broadband, but an article in Fortune Magazine notes that the claim is essentially specious. Does Verizon offer wireless broadband or not? And, if so, what exactly does that mean? What download speeds should we be getting on their EVDO NETWORK?

From Fortune: "Verizon claims that EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) offers broadband speeds for wireless web browsing and file downloads, which is a shameless exaggeration. My experience on the Verizon EV-DO network rarely yielded more than 400 kilobits per second, while broadband is generally defined as 1,500 kilobits and up."FORTUNE

I found an answer to my question on verizon's website.

"With BroadbandAccess from Verizon Wireless, you can experience the nation's largest high-speed wireless broadband network* that meets your needs for a secure data network - allowing you to stay in touch and be more productive...Actual speeds and coverage may vary."
