Does anyone have Pocket Informant 2005 or SBP Pocket Plus (3.04) installed on their 700w?

I'm still waiting for my 700w to arrive and currently run these programs on my current PocketPC (which the 700w will replace)...and was wondering if I should install these + if these programs hog up the 700w's memory - given so much talk about memory issues...

I installed SBP and removed it. A friend with another win mobile 5 phone from sprint also removed it. It seemed to slow both phones down. I had to exchange my 700w and haven't reinstalled it on the new one yet...all I use it for is to truly close the programs. I can't find another one that will close them as well as SBP.

There may be WM05 issues....or maybe not. When most people in WM03 install Pocket Plus and complain about slow down, it is because they are using the Today screen plugin with several tabs loaded with Icons. This will slow down ANY phone. If you look at the One Handed tip thread I posted and look at my screen shot there, you will see that I do not have any tabs and only 4-6 icons ONLY. With this I have never experienced any of the slow downs that others have complained about and I love Pocket Plus and use several aspects of it every day.

FYI - Response from company asking if pocket plus was compatible with 700w 240x240:

    Dear XYZ,

yes, the latest version of Spb Pocket Plus works fine on the mentioned device. You can download the latest official version of Spb Pocket Plus here:

You can also help us with testing of the latest beta-version. You can find it here:

Be sure, your feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for cooperation!

I'm trying out the trial on Pocket Informant. No performance problems, it does use the soft keys, thought I would say not well. But I'm still getting used to the program (this is my first PPC), those who know it well may have no issues.

That's the beta version. It might be a little buggy. I was just posting the latest "official" version. =)

Regarding SBP alternatives if you only really want to use it to close apps, what about other options like Wisbar Advance? Does Wisbar work on the 700w and is it less resource heavy than SBP?

Before I try to install SBP Pocket Plus on my 700w, does anyone know if the new Today screen Picture SpeedDial and Google searchbar will be no longer visible to use???

    THANKS

Wisbar Advance works great on the T700, I use it along with Pocket Plus and Pocket Informant and have Weatherpanel on my today screen.

All this and I have about 11mb of memory (w/ nothing else running)

if you are using pocket information 2005 can you schedule appts calls etc while in the contact information to link the contact and the appt to the calander. Also does this do everything agendus pro does. I am thinking of switching from palm to windows and contact management is my killer app.

I have 11 MB of memory after a hard reset maybe (usuallky around 10) before I put anything back on. With Pocket Plus and SPB weather running (and nothig else) I feel good if I can keep 6 MB available. It will still slowly drain thanks to Active sync turning itself on.

How can you have 11 MB left with those 2 runnning? Is there anyone else with this much surplus memory available.?

    Katie
