Does anyone know if I will be able to get my AOL mail on this model? I see it has AIM capability, but I don't know if I can download my actual mail onto it. Figuring out these technicalities is not my forte and I'd appreciate some wisdom...Thanks.

There will still probably be a versamail-like app that will also allow for emails with multiple providers like AOL, Yahoo, etc.

The best answer is to get rid of AOL and its dependence issues altogether. You and the rest of the world will be happier people.

Windows Mobile 5 messaging client does HotMail, Outlook/Exchange, POP3 and IMAP. AOL Mail is not true IMAP but is a close cousin. No reason why it would not work.

What about http mail? The hotmail access provided by Pocket MSN (which comes with WM5) does not support html messages. I had to purchase an http add-on to work with WM2003SE in order to view HTML messages from my MSN/Outlook account. HTTP mail works with my pocket pc which currently has WM5. Any indication why we should not be able to install the http addon to the Treo 700? Any suggested alternatives for viewing HTML messages?

I found this link on the page you linked to. It has a trial for the 650. Maybe 700 will be next?

It must have been a retotating ad, but it did say trial on the 650.
HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!
