Looking for some help with my Palm Pre. It is a spare phone I bought a long time ago and need to activate it. When I turn it on, it goes to the Palm Login screen. I need to create but it will not let me past this screen to activate WiFi. Do I need to have the phone activated first to do this. It seems like the phone will not do anything without being activated. Am I correct? Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you want it for a WiFi only device, is that right?

Try this: Bypass Activation [webOS 1.x] | webOS Nation

That's true on webOS 2.x devices (see here: Bypass Activation [webOS 2.x] | webOS Nation). If this is a stock Sprint Pre, then RumoredNow's link above is what you'll need.

Yep, yep... There is a divergence in many things between 1.x and 2.x, bypassing activation being a major example.

The OP did lead me to believe that it is a 1.x phone that was never activated previously.
