Well, successful metadoctor has been successful.

That was a process, but things have certainly become simpler thanks to the efforts of the internals crew. Thanks guys, loving my newly fresh pre-.

Of course, it's caused me to be bitten by the "get a pre 2 and frankenstein it" bug... Going to see one tomorrow evening and probably snatch it up.

God, I'm not sure I want to.

Is it even possible to get a pre- up to 2.2.4?

You should look into the compcache thread for the Pre. I think it really helps it with 2.1

A cursory look around isn't turning this thread up... Care to share a link to what you're talking about?

I've got quite a few assorted tweaks running on the pre- right now and things seem fairly smooth, but I'm always down for more.

ncinerate gave me some great advice on installing a modified version of, gulp, Android on it. The dual boot and marketplace access to apps like slingbox make it sooo much fun. Love this thing!

Well, one downside to upgrading to 2.1.0 - it made me want a 2.1.0 capable phone. I spent a ton of time patching and modding and messing with my pre-, but in the end I was looking at the old warhorse and realized even at best it was going to be a cludged-together solution on my old scuffed up hardware.

So I bit the bullet and just got done building my franken-pre2. New hardware, awesome phone, and I don't have to cough up the extra 10 bucks/month to sprint in order to use it. I can deal with that .

I went 2.1 temporarily until the eta doc for sprint 2.2.4 is our of alpha.

I was trying to get 2.2.4 but hit some snags and just wanted to get things running. I'll probably tackle 2.2.4 in the next few days, seems I might need to start fresh with metadoctor to rid the errors I'm getting. Lots of patches still not ported over too, so it's no big loss.

For now though, my pre 2 is running beautifully. Absolutely no complaints.
