    Hi,

I left my palm pre on charge over night, and when I woke up it had the red battery in the corner of the screen with the charging icon. I thought it must have been a glitch so I unplugged it, and within 5 or so seconds, the screen just shut off and the phone shut down (not properly like it normally does with the grey circle thing).

    Any ideas?

If you've had that battery since 2009 then I'd say just replace it.

Probably sometime around there, but why would the battery randomly lose all of its charge hold? It had a battery life of a measly 6 hours or so yesterday, and now down to a matter of seconds? :S

I'm charging it up again to see if it'll actually turn on, will report back

Yup! You should be able to get one on Amazon real cheap.

All batteries have a certain lifespan, usually a set number of charge cycles that they are expected to last, then they need replacing. If you've had the battery since the phone was new, then it's amazing that it's lasted this long.

Amazon batteries aren't great. Two of mine died really fast.
If your carrier has a good customer service center they may give you one for free; AT&T gave me one.
