webos quick install problem

I try to run it but it says no device is connected.
I have the correct java and its in developer mode and connected.

Help

Go to Start Menu, then Run, services.msc. Scroll down to Palm Novacom, right click then Restart. See if that works.

Ok bottom left corner on your PC, you have a start menu? (Been a long time since I've used XP) click on it and find "Run" click on that, then type in services.msc. Scroll down in that window to Palm Novacom, then right-click on that and select restart.

i right clicked it then pressed start and it said could not start on local computer.

You already have Preware installed on your phone?

Devices running 2.x and higher will simply hesitate for a few seconds and then continue operating normally. If it asks you about a password, ignore it and just tap the “submit” button. You are now in developer mode and there is no harm in leaving it this way.

4. Install Preware:
• Plug your phone in to a USB port on your computer.
• Choose “just charge” when the phone prompts you.
• Run the Preware Installer program you previously downloaded.

• After installation, you will find the Preware app icon on your device at the bottom of the left-most launcher page.
• Tap the Preware icon. Tap “Yes” when asked about file association.

After loading various feeds, you will see a catalog of apps and patches for you to explore.

Preware instructions in there too, not what you're looking for, but I don't know maybe your file on your PC got corrupt or something.

Heres what happened. I had preware on this phone then i got a phantom app, so i had to erase my data & apps, that erased my preware now i want it back.

ok so follow those instructions, and ONLY use the Preware Standalone Installer that's provided in the link. Works awesome, no WOSQI required.

Go to Bullet #3 and Download Universal Novacom Installer, and you should get your doctor then. When it asks if you want to overwrite, say yes.
