    Hi All,

Just wondering what people think about the about the secure unlock pin mechanism used in webos 2.1.0

So when one enters the wrong pin a few times

on webos 1.4.5, the phone goes into a locked out mode for few minutes.

But on 2.1.0, the phone warns it will do a device erase !!!

I find this new security too drastic and wonder if this can be patched or configured. I believe the iPhone security setting allow this? Device erase is way too excessive for a typos or toddlers playing with the locked screen.

This device erase warning certainly wakes me up in the mornings!

I agree with you, but I'm thinking it's one of the requirements of a very long list to make the device capable of being a corporate phone.

I think it is an exchange security setting, since i had it back on 1.4.5 as well syncing with corporate email

Blackberry handles this well. Starting on failed attempt 3, it makes you type out the word blackberry before your password. This prevents the toddler inadvertently wiping your phone scenario.

For the record, I haven't tried secure unlock on 2.1 yet so maybe it has something similar to this.
