yahoo messaging can't log in

i have been trying to log in to my yahoo IM but the "Signing In... circle symbol" is just looping all day and nothing happens neither an error message.

Common problem - go to your login settings to the password section. Type the first character of your password, then delete it and type the entire password. Save it and log back in.

If you watch the first character, you'll see it only displays the dot the first time you type it. The character displays properly the second time.

I have no idea why it works this way, but this fix works.
