Hi, I have some questions about Pre.

Backup app uses only wi-fi connection? Never 3G? Can I turn off automatic backup and use only manual backup? Palm (HP?) makes available 'online removing data' when Pre is stolen - this feature removing all data (eg. mp3's, video files etc.) or just contacts from SIM, facebook etc? And when I have PIN to unblock my Pre - this will be delete too? How to remove pages (WWW) from launcher?

    Thanks for answers.

I'm going to answer your last question: Hold the orange(silver) button and touch the webapage icon, then hit delete

I believe that the backup function uses whatever is available -- 3G or wifi. You can turn off the automatic backup, but why would you want to? The backup ensures that your Palm profile is up to date -- e.g., what apps you've purchased. If this information on your phone is lost for any reason, your profile will allow it to be restored.

There are two patches available... "timestamp Clean" and "Timestamp Fancy" both can be found in preware under Available Packages -> patch -> Messaging.

Both give a time/day stamp for each individual message.

Thanks for warm welcome I'm back with yet another questions:
Can I delete music files via music app? If so, how? Is there any file manager on WebOS? I have installed app 'Terminal' - how can I running scripts written in perl, ruby etc?

    thanks for any answers

And where I can find freeTether in preware?
  14. #14
For deleting music install internalz from preware,
for freetether go to feeds in preware and add these 2,
    Index of /feeds/webos-internals/testing/all/

    Index of /feeds/webos-internals/testing/armv7/

    hope this helps.

Load Preware, and simply type tether while on the main screen, (What you type will appear at the top of the page) then press enter and you should find it.

I think I saw such question before but don't understand it.
Why to tether when the other device could use the same access point?
    AfaikAfaikAfaik $it$'$s$ $not$ $possible$.
But you could tether one computer via bluetooth to the pre which is connected to wifi. This works in MHS (MobileHotspot app from palm) don't know about freetether.

None of the current Palm phones are 4G capable.

Yes freetether allows you to share your Pre's data connection with other devices that you give the network name and code to.
