I have a Sprint Pre that keeps losing the EV signal. The signal will show but disappears when using an app that requires a data connection and won't return. The only way to get EV data back is to do a full restart. A second issue I'm having is the phone not responding to the power button being pressed or being slid open. The screen just stays black and after several slide open/close it will finally light up. Probably going to hit the Dr tonight to see if it fixes anything.

Wife's Pre has lost all sound output from the earpiece and has to use speakerphone for all calls. Dr last night didn't fix it. Pres here are not doing well.

Dial ##EVDO# and make sure the option there is Hybrid Rev A and hit save. That rests the radio and see how that holds up. Also make sure you have done update PRL and network in phone preferences.

That 2nd issue alone appears it will force you have to run the doctor. Id say run the ERP and see if the freeze stops but maybe just better to run on a clean slate.

Took the wife's Pre into Sprint for the earpiece not working and they exchanged it for a refurb. 2 days later the refurb is doing the same exact thing. It worked great out of the store and for the first day. Now the ear speaker doesn't work at all. Completely stock Pre too, no patching or homebrew whatsoever.

Do you see the headset icon next to the signal bars? When on a call in the phone app, do you see a speaker icon on the audio button at the bottom left? Sounds like the sensor in the audio jack is just stuck to which is resolvable. Keep up posted...

For the loss of EV, are you using an airwave at the location the EV is failing? With a replacement phone given you will need to update the PRL and network settings again in phone preferences since they don't come up to date out of the box. Also make sure that replacement does have webos version 1.4.5 and carrier version is 2.2, otherwise do the OTA update. If still nogo, you will have to get deep to resolve this issue:

    1. Full erase that device and sign into a NEW palm profile to see how the Ev holds.

    Nogo still?

    2. Contact Sprint customer service, not the store, to perform a RTN reset on the phone. This will wipe out the cell firm clean and reprovision the deivce. Agent sign into the new palm profile first to see if the Ev icon holds before going back to the original for trial and error purposes.

There is no headset headset icon next to the signal bars and the phone icon is present at the bottom left when on a call. All is showing like it should for use with no headset plugged in, the ear speaker just doesn't work.
