ON sprint you can type ##768# or something like that into the phone app and see if your phone is a refurb, does palm pre plus at&t have a similar code??
  2. #2

thanks for trying to help, I'm just trying to get the answer, and I want others too se that the solution you mentioned isn't correct so that they shouldn't think this issue was solved SO...

how can I tell if my at&t pre plus is a refurb or new. THE SPRINT WAY ##786? DOESN't WORK.

    I'm not sure but try:

    #786#

Sprint uses 2 #'s at the beginning, I think I read somewhere that AT&T only uses one.

EDIT: If that doesn't work, try:

    #*786#

on sprint its ##786# on att im not sure

Just in case you didn't see my edit...

    Try #786#

    or

    #*786#

no those don't help either, anyone else
  14. #14
FYI I have a pre plus on Verizon and the ##786# does work on my phone.

verizon is CDMA like sprint, does anyone know how to do this on at&t, prefrebly someone who has an at&t phone
  16. #16
You may not be able to do it. See the page below from WebOS internals, which lists the codes.

    WebOS Hash Codes

The GSM Pre accepts only some of the following codes. You also have to change the preceding double hash '##' to '#*', e.g. ##HELPHELP# becomes #*HELPHELP#.

it's seems from the file linked above that: a GSM phone cannot check it's recondition status.
