No, sorry, its's a bit off topic

I know that it closes itself. I'm wondering about when there are patches needing updates. Preware shuts itself down instead of prompting a Luna restart.

It isn't an issue for me, I have the advances power options. I just think it should know that it should stay open if patches are updated

Test feed? You mean Palm Beta. These are the feeds I have setup in my Preware preferences:

    optware
    Palm Beta
    Palm Beta updates
    Palm Catalog
    Palm Catalog updates
    Palm Web
    Palm Web updates
    PreCentral
    PreCentral themes
    Prethemer
    WebOS Internals
    Webos Kernels
    Webos Patches

Note: "Nacho???" - To whom are you referring too? My name is Fred.

Oh. Knowing that Preware shuts down with an update, I always manually install updates and do Preware last. Then run Luna Manager and restart Luna.

Oh, not a problem. I thought I was being referred to as Nacho. I did not know it was your User ID here. Take care.

I was referring to NachoB, since he had the update, if he had used the testing feeds to get it.

The testing feeds are for those people who want to be bleeding edge, and who will give feedback to the developers about what happens with installs, updates, crashes, conflicts, etc. Only those people with a good working understanding of coding should utilize these feeds and updates.

Version 1.4 will come out in the normal feeds you have listed above once the webOSInternals guys have tested it to make sure it won't crash and/or damage people's phones under normal usage.

All of which is why I don't use those feeds and have not updated to v1.4.

whats the url for the test feed?

    found it

    Target Device: Pre/Pre+

So the next question is, what exactly does the update bring differently?
  11. #31
Ok, now I see the update.. After adding both testing feeds: Index of /feeds/webos-internals/testing/all/ and Index of /feeds/webos-internals/testing/armv7/ in manage feeds. Then do
    a reboot.

    Really? I would expect that...

Except I'm not adding the testing feeds, I was just wondering if those that do would enlighten the rest of us who wait until it's tested and stable before adding it to our phone.

    Change log:
Added help to preference scene. Fix-swipe-to-delete bug in backlist. Updated italian translation(coutesy of darkmagister). Added get info button to package install scene. Fixed bug when loading large package descriptions.

I had taken a screenshot of this, but I don't know how to post it using my palm pre. This was Type.

    :-D

Ok, no problem. I read about setting up the actual "test feeds" on the Wiki pages, and realized to do so brings along with it potential "doctoring" risks. So, for now I shall lay low, chill, and await Preware 1.4.0 on the normal feed in Preware. Thanks again.

Adding the testing feeds doesn't increase the risk of needing to doctor your phone... installing untested software that could potentially hose your OS increases your risk for doctoring. You have the option of whether or not you want to install a given update, and if you aren't sure where it comes from just switch the test feeds to off and refresh the list.

Nearly all of what you see in the testing feeds has already been on at least a few devices to ensure it doesn't wreck your phone right away, what they don't know is if it will play nice with everyones hardware as well as other apps and configurations.

EDIT... besides, doctoring is no big deal.
Clicking the Thanks button is a great way to say... well THANKS
